About our Giving

Please reach us at melissabecker@heinlegacyfoundation.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Resources are generally provided to organizations, rather than indiviuals.

Most grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations focused on Upper Kittitas County, although requests from any applicant will be considered.

In general, the foundation looks for projects in the $1,000 to $20,000 range, but welcomes smaller requests. See list below for examples of projects funded.

Preference is given to projects that impact all three areas of our mission: Education, Youth and Families

Preference is given to those applicants who can specifically identify how the funds will be used (e.g., paving a parking lot, providing a summer lunch program for 100 children, etc.).

Preference is given to those applicants who can demonstrate high-impact use of the funds (e.g., large number of people impacted; high economic or social benefit to the community, etc.).

Funds are generally not provided through this foundation for:

  • Ongoing operations, repairs and maintenance costs
  • Individuals or families directly requesting financial assistance
  • Business start-up costs

Complete a grant application. We look forward to learning more about your project!
